Al Houghton
Al’s Mechanical Engineering degree from Brown University served him well after graduation until his boss told him to fly to Omaha, Nebraska on the night of his band’s gig at CBGBs. His subsequent disaffection led him to form Dubway Studios, NYC, where he recorded and collaborated with a wide variety of artists, honing his music production skills through the 80‘s and 90’s.
With the expansion the studio in ’97 and the addition of partner Mike Crehore, Dubway became a full-fledged audio production and post facility, recording all music and dialog for the acclaimed "Backyardigans" children’s animation on Nick, Jr., as well as recordings for Green Day, Antony & the Johnsons, Lang Lang, Sia, and Patti Smith, to name a few.
Al’s musicality and creative empathy for his clients has stood him in good stead for his thirty years in the business.
